Why is panoramic x-ray necessary?
Panoramic x-ray films are x-rays which all teeth can be viewed in the same plane. This is often a desired imaging method before treatment, since it gives the physician a lot of information about the patient's teeth and jawbone.
Why is tomography (DVT) necessary?
There are cases where other imaging methods are not sufficient. Because in other methods, images overlap and images appear in a single plane. Dental Volumetric Tomography is a method that provides very low dose radiation compared to conventional tomography developed for dentists and provides 3-dimensional imaging of the jaw bone from every angle. It is an imaging method required for diagnosis and treatment planning before many advanced surgical cases and some implant cases. Nowadays, with these devices and compatible systems, computer-assisted surgery can be performed in implant applications without removing the gums.
